On the morning of May 18, at Guangzhou Dalang Station of Guangzhou Railway (Group) Company, the China-Europe Express (Guangzhou to Volshino) was loaded with 45 containers of goods and was ready to go to Volshino, Russia. At the same time, at Shilong Freight Yard in Dongguan, Guangdong, the China-Europe Express (Dongguan to Duisburg) was also loaded with goods and headed for Europe.
Both China-Europe Express trains were jointly built by Guangzhou Railway Group, Guangzhou Branch of China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd., Sinotrans and other companies. It is understood that since the China-Europe Express (Guangzhou to Volshino) started running on August 28, 2016, it has basically achieved full load operation, and the China-Europe Express (Dongguan to Duisburg) started running in both directions in early April this year.
According to the person in charge of the Freight Department of Guangzhou Railway Group, both trains use a fast car bottom with a speed of 120 kilometers per hour, and implement scheduled departure and limited arrival. The whole journey takes 19 days, which is about 15 days less than sea transportation, greatly saving the trade costs and transaction time of countries along the "Belt and Road". Compared with other China-Europe trains in China, the China-Europe train (Dongguan to Duisburg) has a full running distance of 13,488 kilometers, which is longer and more efficient.
These two trains have effectively promoted the growth of Guangdong's import and export trade. From January to April this year, Guangdong's foreign trade imports and exports amounted to 2.1 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%, accounting for 23.9% of my country's total imports and exports in the same period.
